Miami County Recovery Council, Miami County Public Health, and Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services are teaming up to present the Heroin and Opioid Awareness Week on September 18, 19, and 20, 2017. The event will be hosted at the Troy-Miami County Public Library located at 419 W. Main St. in Troy, Ohio and programming will take place from 6 pm to 8 pm each night. Heroin and opioid addiction affects many people in many different ways. This three-night event will address a number of topics, attracting unique audiences on each night.
Cast your ballot, September 1- 30, for the next Big Read book; your vote can help determine the winner. Votes can be cast at Troy-Miami County Public Library or on the Troy Bookmobile. The three finalists for the Big Read 2018 are The Underdogs: Children, Dogs, and the Power of Unconditional Love, by Melissa Fay Greene, The Handmaid’s Tale, by Margaret Atwood, and Everything I Never Told You, by Celeste Ng.
Registration for Fall Storytimes and other programs began Tuesday, September 5.
