Troy-Miami County Public Library is pleased to offer a telescope for patrons to borrow. The telescope has been provided, and is maintained, by The Stillwater Stargazers of Troy.
The telescope circulates for 21 days, with no renewals. Patrons borrowing the telescope need to have a valid picture ID, an active library card that has no fines on it, and they will need to complete the telescope borrowing agreement, below. While we encourage patrons under 18 years old to use the telescope with adult supervision, the borrower must be over 18 years of age.
SPECIFICATIONS: The large lunar telescope at TMCPL is a very straight reflector with a focus length of 450 mm and a zoom eyepiece of 8-24 mm. The primary mirror is 114 mm. The mount is alt/ax Dobsonian type. The telescope comes with a small table for you to set it on. The telescope has an attached pouch that includes instructions and a current star map to guide your viewing.
To reserve the telescope, please email or call DeMarcus Moody at 937-339-0502, ext. 127. If the telescope is on hold for someone, or is currently checked out, you will be contacted when it becomes available.
The telescope can only be picked up at the main library in Troy.
